ink and bleach painting

Painting with ink and beach:
I’ve spent over 5 years creating my own technique of painting with ink and bleach.

Inks are challenging - they are watery, unpredictable and take on a life of their own.
Adding bleach to inks adds a whole other layer of complexity - the effect is hard to control - the unpredictability of the medium adds another layer of beauty - and the final effect is a beautiful golden colour and a luminosity that is hard to create using other mediums.

About the materials:

I use high-quality writing inks and indian inks in my work.
Each bottle of ink bears its own unique qualities - with distinct colours that blend and mix with water and bleach in different ways.
In each painting I blend layer upon layer of various inks, which is then delicately stripped away using varying strengths of bleach.

Hand embellishment:
To make your print a one-off and representative to the original paintings, I can hand-embellish them with gold leaf.

This costs an additional £100 per print (A0 to A2) and £75 per print (A3 and A4), just add to your cart in my shop.
