Project  Touch

A  project  exploring  changing  notions  of  physical  connection

The average person touches their smartphone over 2500 times a day.
In one year a smartphone will be touched around 1 million times.

How does this affect our ability to connect with each other physically?

This artwork has been created from 189 phones, which have collectively been touched in their lifetimes over 20,000,000 (20 million) times. The piece includes a projected film of hands, accompanied by the song from Koda, called 'Hands'.

The artwork sought to incorporate and show the power and importance of human touch, amongst a sea of technology.

Viewers are actively encouraged to touch the artwork and also hold hands with other viewers when looking at it.
